Guy Christian Salon Design – Beauty Planet

Salon design by Beauty Planet

Guy Christian has opened a second salon in Cardiff Bay, Europe’s largest waterfront development and one of the UK’s most successful regeneration projects.

Transforming the 1,400 sq. foot shell into a unique bespoke salon design, the new salon incorporates elements of design from Guy’s first salon on City Road in Cardiff, contrasting a raw, warehouse feel with opulent elegance and comfort.

Beauty Planet Salon Designs along with sister company Olymp saw through the project which worked with a budget of £87,000.

Speaking about the salon’s design, Guy said, “Client comfort and functionality came first, but the salon design based on the contrast of the raw, edgy warehouse with the softer touches was followed throughout.” He continued, “The best thing I did was to take on a good designer. Beauty Planet Salon Designs paid meticulous attention to detail and it resulted in the salon I wanted.”

14 custom made styling stations provide atmospheric lighting, with each holding a full length mirror with Rococo style frames. Chandeliers and a custom made, deep red, velvet sofa in the waiting area add luxurious touches, while the brickwork effect wall and exposed concrete ceiling offer a rustic contrast. High-end salon furniture from Olymp includes Lavasit Backwashes and Lounge chairs.

Managing Director for Olymp, Matthew Lutos, said, “This was a great project to work on with Guy. We received an empty shell and designed the salon based on the brief and area we had available. We managed to squeeze 14 styling stations and 4 backwash chairs, yet we still retained the unique and spacious look and energy that Christian wanted.”
